The mission of the Downtown Soccer Club is to provide children an equal opportunity to develop physically and emotionally through soccer, without regard to national origin or financial circumstances. DSC was established to provide a place where each child could strive to achieve his or her maximum potential without organizational constraints on development. Our objective is to develop children into active community-focused young adults.

Downtown Soccer Club fields teams for boy and girls ages 6-18. Most teams compete in the Southern California Developmental Soccer League. Games and training are held at parks and schools near downtown Los Angeles and in the Mid-City neighborhoods of Los Angeles, including Pecan Recreation Center, Mendez Learning Center, Belmont High School, Miguel Contreras Learning Center, Sotomayor Learning Center, Helen Bernstein High School and Virgil Middle School.

Club History

Downtown Soccer Club was formed in 2007 as the Los Angeles Cosmos Soccer Club to serve immigrant neighborhoods immediately west of downtown Los Angeles (Pico-Union and Westlake).  In 2011, the club expanded to serve the neighborhoods immediately east of downtown Los Angeles (Pico Aliso and Boyle Heights) and renamed itself, Downtown Soccer Club.  In addition to those neighborhoods, current members of Downtown Soccer Club come from all over the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including Hollywood, Silverlake, Echo Park, Lincoln Heights, South Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Lynwood and Long Beach. In 2013, in collaboration with Mid-City United, DSC expanded its offerings to younger players by adding boys and girls teams based in Beverly Hills and the Hancock Park, Koreatown and Mid-Wilshire districts of Los Angeles. Those teams will continue to practice in those neighborhoods.
